Minority Empowerment & Development Agency

Standing with the Silent. Protecting the Powerless. Empowering the Forgotten.

Minority Empowerment Development Agency | MEDA

Our Vision

A just and inclusive Somalia where every voice counts, every right is upheld, and no one is left behind—especially the historically marginalized.

Our Mision

To restore dignity and promote resilience among Somalia’s most marginalized—minorities, IDPs, women, children, PWDs, returnees—through inclusive protection, advocacy, and community-driven development.

About Us

The Minority Empowerment & Development Agency (MEDA) is more than a humanitarian actor—we are an engine for justice. Rooted in the lived realities of Somalia’s marginalized, displaced, and excluded communities, MEDA champions minority inclusion, dignity-centered protection, and community resilience in the face of persistent inequality and crisis.

We exist to amplify the voices of groups too often sidelined—minority ethnic clans, internally displaced persons (IDPs), persons with disabilities (PWDs), women-headed households, returnees, and stateless populations.
